About St George's Arts & Crafts
The Exhibition has become an integral part of the Arts Festival and we are pleased to welcome not only local artists to display their work but talented people who display and sell a wide range of crafts including hand made jewellery, rugs, ceramics, pottery, textiles, woodturning, needlecrafts and embroidered goods, children’s clothing, greeting cards. Kelsey Park Sports College also provide a fine exhibition of their GCSE student’s artwork including paintings, graphics and sculptures. There is an excellent second hand bookstall and a very popular plant sale which sells a wide variety of plants. You can also relax by treating yourself to a massage at greatly discounted prices.
Saturday is also Church Open Day and there are organised trips up the bell tower to see the bell ringers in action and then upward to admire the fine panoramic view of Beckenham from the ‘battlements’.
Refreshments
Including wonderful homemade cakes are available throughout the 4 days of the exhibition which closes at 5pm on Tuesday.
This year we are particularly pleased to welcome not only a display of art from Babington House School but we also look forward to their chamber choir giving an informal concert at lunchtime on Monday between 12.45 and 1.15pm.
Bromley Road Infants School Choir will be returning to perform on Tuesday at approximately 2pm. Their performances are always so vibrant and are so enjoyed by stallholders and visitors to the exhibition.
Please do come along with your family and enjoy the exhibition in the ambience of St. George’s Church with its magnificent stained glass windows. We look forward to meeting you and by the way entrance is free!
